Started playing at Douglas School of Music, Wellington Square, Douglas

1949

Joined St Mathews Band (North Quay, Douglas) 2nd cornet. Winning band at the Manx Music Festival. Band disbanded 1951

1951

Douglas Town Band (cornet) joined at the same time as J T Crosbie MBE

1954-55

Whilst doing an apprenticeship to be a joiner, I joined Joy Youth Band (Blackpool

1956-58



National Service, Royal Engineers - joined Hoo Silver Band, Kent. Southern champions (music advisor and conductor Eric Ball). Joint concert between Manchester CWS and Hoo Silver conducted by Harry Mortimer.

1960

Back to the Isle of Man and Douglas Town Band playing flugel horn. Secretary throughout the 60's.

1967-80

Moved onto Solo Horn.

Joined Crosby Silver Band, solo horn

2003

Joined Castletown Metropolitan Silver Band, 1st horn
