Lots of fun was had at this years Castletown Festival held on Saturday 1st August.

Despite regeneration working taking place in Castletown Square limiting the amount of space available for the festival, and necessitating a change in the route for the parade, a good sized crowd turned out to join in the fun.

As usual activities had been going on all day including fashion contests, bouncy castles, and the crowning of the Festival Princess, so by the time the evening came the town was well into the swing of things.

Before the parade started the band entertained the waiting crowds with a few numbers they could all join in with, either singing or dancing. Then it was time for the parade which we were again pleased to be leading. Although wearing our uniforms, a number of the band joined in the fancy dress by donning wigs and silly hats!

This year it was a shortened route going past the Glue Pot pub and into the square. However, there was a slight pause outside the Glue Pot as the band tried conga'ing (is this a word?) in the narrow street - results of which can be found on Facebook (you don't need to register or log in).

Then it was into the square and the confetti carnival!

We've uploaded a few photographs to the website below, however there are more on our Facebook page and the Castletown Festival Facebook page.
